A HEINLEIN HEGEMONY FILM JOURNAL
A scientist invents a machine that accurately measures a human lifespan —
with disturbing consequences.

If you could know how long you had to live, would you want to know?

THE PROJECT
One short film.
A much bigger ambition.
Welcome to the home of Life-Line news.
This is where we’ll share the project’s progress, creative milestones, and the work of bringing Heinlein’s story to the screen as a full-length feature.
Our journey began with a student concept film. Now we’re working toward the next chapter.

WHERE IT BEGAN
A small production.
A meaningful first step.
Made during COVID for less than $2,000, our Life-Line short was a student project with a clear purpose: to explore how the story could work on screen and introduce audiences to its possibilities.
Working with limited resources, we brought together imagination, determination, and a shared enthusiasm for Heinlein’s story. We’re proud of what the team accomplished.
The short captures an early stage of our journey. Our ambition for the feature is larger: a fully developed screenplay, established actors, and the production values this story deserves. The student film introduces the concept.
The planned feature will be a new production.
Made during COVID · Budget under $2,000 · Student production
LIFE-LINE PROJECT UPDATES
From proof of concept to a feature film
Our student short gave us a starting point for exploring Life-Line on screen. The next step is to build on that experience and develop the project into a full-length feature.
We’re seeking startup support for screenplay development, talent acquisition, and the groundwork needed to move the film forward. Our goal is to approach the next stage with a strong script and a compelling creative package.
We’ll share confirmed developments here as the project progresses—from the screenplay and creative team to casting and production milestones.
New updates will appear on this page as there is news to share.
